Windows 10 Taskbar not hiding? Here is the fix!

The Windows 10 taskbar is probably displayed on most users systems all the time. The core reason for that is likely that many are unaware that the taskbar can be hidden, and that others prefer a less dynamic interface.

Hiding the taskbar makes room for a tiny bit of extra space on the desktop that application windows may use, and if you like your desktop clean and tidy, you may find that it looks better as well.

Microsoft needs to stop blocking updates on Windows 7 and 8.1 PCs

Microsoft's decision to block security and non-security updates on customer PCs running Windows 7 or 8.1 (or the server variants) with "next-generation silicon" is as customer unfriendly as it gets.

What makes this all the more problematic is the fact that Microsoft's detection routines, those that identify the processor of a PC to determine whether updates will be blocked or allowed, is flawed.

Disable the annoying Set up OneDrive popup on Windows 10

If you have upgraded a Windows PC already to the Windows 10 Creators Update, or installed this version on a PC, you may have noticed quite a few changes that come with it.

One of these is that you may get a "Set up OneDrive" popup when you open save or load file dialogs, or click on the OneDrive icon in File Explorer directly.

This is obviously only an issue if you don't use OneDrive, and have no desire to use it. Anyone who uses the built-in file synchronization service may fill out the requested authentication information once to be done with that.

Zabasearch free and advanced people search engine

Zabasearch is a free search engine to find information on people including names, addresses, phone numbers, birth year, and more.

People search engines have a bad reputation on the Internet because of two things: first, because many are designed to provide information only after users pay money. Second, that the provided information may have been retrieved without consent.

A comparison of GPT and MBR partition structures

Have you ever wondered how a computer boots up? Regardless of hardware or operating system, all computers start up using either the traditional BIOS-MBR or the more recent UEFI-GPT method employed by the latest versions of Operating Systems available.

In this article, we will compare GPT and MBR partition structures; GPT stands for GUID Partition Table, while MBR stands for Master Boot Record. First, we start by understanding the boot process.

Save Windows Folder snapshots as HTML files

Snap2HTML is a free portable program for Microsoft Windows devices that enables you to take snapshots of Windows folders and save them as HTML files.

While you may access files directly on Windows using Windows Explorer or a third-party Explorer alternative such as Total Commander, functionality that Snap2HMTL offers makes it a viable alternative for some tasks.

Among the many features that it offers is a search option, options to link to content, and to create custom designs for the HTML file listings.

Portrait Display service makes millions of HP, Fujitsu and Philips notebooks vulnerable

Security researchers at Sec Consult discovered a vulnerability in Portrait Display, a software used by OEMs such as HP and Fujitsu on millions of notebooks.

Portrait Display SDK Service is used by various OEMs such as HP or Fujitsu as an on screen display that provides notebook users with options to tune displays. The core idea behind the service is to provide users with better and more direct display controls.

Windows 10 Version 1703 KB4016240 Update released

Microsoft released KB4016240 just a moment ago (on April 25th, 2017), a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 1703 (also known as the Creators Update).

The update is already available via Windows Update, and it should be installed automatically on most devices running Windows 10 version 1703 as automatic updates is the default configuration.
