Windows 10 KB4057142, KB4057144 and KB4073290 released

Microsoft released the updates  KB4057142, KB4057144 and KB4073290 on January 17th, 2017 for the company's Windows 10 operating system.

One of the updates, KB4073290, addresses the unbootable state issue for select AMD devices after installing the January 3 update KB4056892.  The company released updates for affected Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server systems yesterday already.

ProtonVPN Android promises free bandwidth unrestricted service without ads

Proton Technologies, best known for the secure email service ProtonMail launched ProtonVPN for Android today.

The company launched ProtonVPN to the public last year but had to shut down registration soon after the launch as servers were hitting capacity limits due to a rush of sign-ups for the service.

Microsoft released updates for AMD devices running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 designed to fix the unbootable state issue that some AMD devices ran into after installing the out-of-band security updates that Microsoft released in early January 2018 to address the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities.

Microsoft moves Fonts management to Settings and downloads to Store

Microsoft plans to move Fonts management from the Control Panel to the Settings application in future versions of the Windows 10 operating system.

Paul Thurott managed to get a sneak peak of the functionality already using the latest Windows 10 Insider Build.

According to his information, Fonts becomes an entry under Personalization in the Settings application.

TrendMicro Ransom Buster: Windows ransomware protection

TrendMicro Ransom Buster is a standalone program for Microsoft Windows devices to protect data on the device against all forms of ransomware.

TrendMicro states that Ransom Buster is free for a limited period only. While we don’t know precisely for how long and what follows after, the most likely explanation is that the company plans to sell it for a price eventually.
