Vivaldi introduces Tab Renaming, drag-and-drop management for downloads, and more

Vivaldi browser has been updated to version 6.9, and it comes with a slew of improvements. Let's take a look at the new features in the latest version.

Tab Rename in Vivaldi

Version 6.9 adds an option that lets you rename your tabs to whatever you want. To do this, just right-click on a tab and select the rename option from the context menu, and give the tab a name. It can be useful to mark tabs with an easy to identify name, rather than to view their full title, which is often hidden by the tab bar.

Firefox's automatic Picture-in-Picture mode is a time-saver for those who use it

If you watch videos in your web browser, you probably have come upon the Picture-in-Picture functionality. Most modern desktop browsers support it to display the video stream in an overlay on the screen.

This allows you to continue watching the video while switching tabs or doing other things in the browser or on the computer. Not everyone likes the mode, but since it is entirely optional, it should not be a huge issue.

Google Chrome: security update fixes 38 issues, including one that is actively exploited

Google released security updates for Google Chrome on various platforms today. The update fixes a total of 38 unique security issues in the web browser. To make matters worse, one patches a 0-day exploit that is already used in attacks.

Chrome users are encouraged to update the browser as soon as possible on their devices.

Note: most security issues affect other Chromium-based browsers as well. If those are installed, use the built-in update checks to install the update as well. It may take a few days before the updates are released.

Teams: Microsoft launches unified app for everyone to end two-version-chaos

Today, Microsoft has put an end to the Microsoft Teams chaos that has plagued Windows users for years. The company announced today that there will only be one Microsoft Teams app for Windows going forward.

One could say that Microsoft has gone full circle on this one. When it first launched Teams, it allowed every type of account. This meant, that personal Microsoft customers as well as work or education customers could use the same client for communication.
