Last Audit PC audit software
Last Audit is a PC audit software that you can run to generate security reports that reveal potentially problematic system settings, file leaks, and other security or privacy related issues.
The program is offered as a portable version that you can run from any location. Last Audit displays a scan configuration screen on start that you use to select what you want it to scan.
The main areas are files on drives you select, network locations in the local area network, configuration of the operating system, passwords, known vulnerabilities, and active directory.
Windows 10 Anniversary Update brings more promoted apps
When Microsoft launched Windows 10, it did so mostly with company created applications. These applications, from Mail and Photos to obscure apps like 3D Builder were all listed under all apps in the start menu, and many of them were also highlighted in the start menu as tiles as well.
Next to that were five promoted applications which, except for Minecraft, had no ties to Microsoft and were produced by other companies.
The apps in question were Twitter, Flipbook, Photoshop Express, Minecraft and Candy Crush Soda Saga.
Dark Sky app for Android
The popular iOS weather application Dark Sky has been ported to Android. The first public version is now available on Google Play, but it is limited to the US currently.
If you check the ratings of the application, you will notice that they are quite bad, and the reason for that is that the developers decided to offer a subscription-based premium version that costs $2.99 on Android, while the iOS version is available for a one-time payment of $3.99.
Anyway, if you look beyond that for a moment and concentrate on features and the app itself, you get the following.
Blisk a developer focused browser
Blisk is a relatively new web browser based on Chromium that has been designed specifically to make the live of developers easier and more productive.
The browser is provided as an early preview version that is currently only available for Windows. The developers promised to release a Mac version next month, and that a Linux version is also in the making.
Another thing to consider before using the browser is that several of the features highlighted on the official site are not yet implemented as well.
7-Zip vulnerability affects security software
7-Zip is a popular open source file compression program that supports all major compression formats and support for a variety of other features.
Talos, a Cisco company, discovered a vulnerability in 7-Zip that allows attackers to run code on computer systems that has the same rights as the underlying process.
To be precise, the vulnerability was found in the code that handle Universal Disk Format (UDF) files in 7-Zip.
Remove sites automatically from Chrome’s history
Cuffing Season is a brand new browser extension for Google Chrome that allows you to specify sites that you want removed from the browser's history automatically.
The main idea behind the extension is to provide the owner of the device with options to hide certain sites from the history if access to the browser is shared at times or revealed to others.

Opera Power Saver is a new feature implemented in Opera 39 designed to improve battery life of mobile device when Opera is used as a web browser.
A new Power Saver icon appears in Opera's main toolbar when the power cable of the laptop is unplugged from the device, This indicates that power saver mode is ready for use.
A click on the icon reveals whether the feature is enabled or not, and a toggle lets you switch its state easily.
Fast Forward videos on YouTube, Netflix and Facebook
Fast Forward is a new browser extension for the Google Chrome web browser that enables you to fast forward through videos on select video streaming websites such as YouTube or Netflix.
Fast forwarding or skipping is still somewhat of a problem with many streaming services and sites you find online.
While some allow you to speed up or slow down videos, YouTube provides that feature for instance to change the playback speed between 0.25 to 2 times the original speed, skipping often requires new buffering.
Windows Repair Toolbox review
Windows Repair Toolbox is a free program for Windows devices that provides you with access to third-party repair and troubleshooting tools.
The application itself comes as a 2 Megabyte download which requires the Microsoft .Net Framework and is compatible with all versions of Windows from XP onward.
The download does not include the third-party tools that the program makes available, as those are downloaded when they are used for the first time.
Only native Windows tools are readily available right after installation and without further downloads.
