Microsoft admits The Outer Worlds 2 was priced too high, reduces price to $70
Microsoft has admitted that The Outer Worlds 2's price tag of $80 was too high. Who'd have thunk it?
Last month, I wrote an article about Microsoft's bizarre strategy to price all of its upcoming games at super premium prices, eager to follow the trend started by Nintendo. Even fans of the franchise were upset, saying that they didn't think the franchise is worth the AAA price tag that Microsoft had set. As a fan, I fully agreed with them, it's not that popular of a game to justify the price.
Obsidian and Microsoft have posted a message on their respective social media accounts to inform buyers that they had heard the feedback from fans, and have decided to reduce the price of the game. The Outer Worlds 2 will now cost $69.99.
You've tried the best, now try the rest. It's Spacer's Choice! People who have played the game will get the joke. A $10 discount is still not that great in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I liked the first game. But it lacked many things it wasn't optimized well, there were bugs. I'm not sure if the sequel would be better, and there's always Game Pass if you want to play it at an affordable price. Hopefully, The Outer Worlds 2 will be amazing.

Windows Central reports that retailers will start issuing refunds from today. I just took a quick look at the Microsoft Store, Steam and SteamDB, the prices of the game haven't updated yet. They still have the game for $80 Maybe the price change will be reflected when the storefront refreshes.
In case you missed it, the game releases on October 24 in Advanced Access for Premium Edition buyers, and on October 29 for Standard Edition buyers on Windows PC, and also on Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 consoles.
