Opera plans continued support for classic extensions in the browser

Opera Software released Opera One R2 this week. The new stable version of Opera comes with a large number of new features and changes.

This includes the new dynamic themes feature, tab splitting and recent tab highlighting, more AI functionality, and something that is easily overlooked in the long post on the Opera Software website: continued support for Manifest V2 extensions.

Syncthing for Android is being discontinued, but there's an alternative app you can switch to

The Syncthing for Android app is being discontinued. Another day, another good app dies. For those unaware, Syncthing is an open source file synchronization program that can sync files between two or more devices on a local internet connection, it's similar to the macOS/iOS AirDrop feature.

Windows 11: Flyby11 enables upgrades on unsupported devices

Flyby11 is an open source script for Windows 11 that helps administrators upgrade a device to the latest release version, even if the computer does not meet all system requirements.

Microsoft released Windows 11 24H2 earlier this month. The new version brought more AI functionality and some other features, including Sudo for Windows or support for Wi-Fi 7.

Microsoft launches Edge 130 with lots of security patches and feature changes

Microsoft released Edge 130 Stable today. The new release fixes plenty of security issues, but it also rolls out the updated Settings page and makes a few other changes.

To update, select Menu > Help & Feedback > About Microsoft Edge, if you are on the desktop. Mobile updates are pushed to user devices by the application stores.
