We talked about the upcoming Firefox interface design change, codename Photon, before here on Ghacks, and even revealed a mockup showing some of its interface elements last week.

Turned out later that the mockup was not by the Photon team, but by another Firefox team that used tidbits of Photon in the screenshot.

Anyway, if things go well, Photon will be part of Firefox 57. The browser is one of the most important releases for Mozilla in a long, long time.

Mozilla is working on a new security project for Firefox, called Binary Transparency, currently to allow all Firefox users to verify the binary files of the web browser to ensure that the files are safe and have not been tampered with.

Firefox is an open source project. This means that anyone may build the browser from source, and even change code before that.

Microsoft plans to release the Windows 10 Creators Update on April 11, 2017. The day coincides with April's Patch Tuesday, and marks the beginning of the roll out phase of the Creators Update.

Roll out phase means that Microsoft will release the update gradually to the Windows 10 population through Windows Update. The company did the same when it released the Anniversary Update, and that took some time to reach all user devices (weeks, in some cases months)

Google implemented a change in Chrome's JavaScript popup handling behavior recently that restricts JavaScript popups.

The change, which landed in Chrome Canary and Dev already, improves the handling of JavaScript alert(), confirm() and prompt() dialogs that pages may throw in the browser.

Chrome up until now, and that is still true for Chrome Stable and Beta, handled these JavaScript dialogs per browser-window.

MailStore Home 10.1 is the latest version of the popular email archiving and backup software for Microsoft Windows devices.

The new version of the program features search improvements, and some other changes that are useful to users of the program.

Existing users may run a check for updates from within the application. A click on the check for updates button on the application's dashboard runs an update check. The new MailStore Home 10.1 should pop up then automatically as a new version, and an option to download and install it should be displayed as well.

Security company Malwarebytes has released another beta version for its flagship product Malwarebytes 3 to fix long-standing issues in the program.

Malwarebytes 3, a new product born out of the ashes of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit, and Anti-Ransomware, has been plagued by bugs ever since its release.

As a Malwarebytes user myself, I have been plagued with issues ever since I updated the software to version 3. Probably the biggest issue that I experienced was that some protection modules failed to turn on at times.
